12/16/2023 0 Comments Optimal layout slime rancherHowever, I also wanted to keep all the gardens in one place. I wanted the Slimes to be either in the main/central ranch, or the Lab to limit on Refinery links and walking, plus I found that if I kept the Slimes in separate areas I'd consistently forget to check on them until they were half-starved. This is mostly personal choice, but I've included a potential Ranch layout HERE Some points: With the five Largos chosen, it's now a decision about layout. The Tabby Hunter Largo is interesting because it's favorite food is both Stony Hens and Roostros, which means that even if you suddenly get only Roostros or Hens from your coops, both will benefit you. The Honey Slime's plorts also draw aggro of nearby slimes, so both of these qualities are best kept away from the other slimes. In my current farm I keep ~10 Boom Rad Largos, and they frequently blast their plorts through the corral walls. The reason I chose Boom Slimes earlier instead of Tabbys is that Boom Slimes are very dangerous to keep. Now you have a bit of personal freedom in how you couple the slimes up, here's what I went with and why.Ĭrystal/Rock - Heart Beets (Thematically similar/looks) Quantum/Rad - Oca Ocas (Looks) Hunter/Tabby - Stony Hen/Roostro (Thematically similar/looks/ Food optimization) Pink/Phosphor - Cuberries (The last two I had) Boom/Honey - Mint Mangoes ( Must be isolated) I decided to use Boom slimes as my fifth, and will explain why later. Unfortunately, there are only 4 Easy Slimes, so we're going to have to utilize chickens or call off one of the bonuses in production. To get the "favorite food" plort bonus, we need to mix the Hard and the Easy slimes to always achieve the bonus. Since we have exactly 10 Slime types, we need 5 largos. So now we must decide what sort of Largos we need. The Special tier is just Pink Slimes, which don't have any favorite food, and thus must be part of a Largo to get double the Plorts via feeding. Hunter Slimes are similar to the Medium difficulty slimes in that they require Roostros, which are even harder to collect than Hens. Quantum Slimes must be continuously fed or they will flee their corral, and as mentioned earlier, Phase Lemons are a pain to gather. Crystal Slimes require Odd Onions, which are difficult to grow or find in bulk. I don't know about anyone else, but even with maximum upgrades, Hens are finicky, and if you want production to stay up, you can only grab about 6 from a coop at a time, so you'll need many more than gardens for other slimes. The Medium difficulty slimes require Briar/Stony Hens. All you need is a garden, and a Solar Shield for Phosphors. Justification: The Easy tier is the easiest to feed. First we need to rate the Slimes by how easy they are to feed.Įasy: Phosphor Slime Honey Slime Rock Slime Rad Slime Medium: Boom Slime Tabby Slime Hard: Crystal Slime Quantum Slime Hunter Slime Special: Pink Slime The combinations come down a little bit to personal preference, so here are my thoughts on that. Keeping a separate corral for each of these isn't efficient, so we need to Largo it up. All fruits/veggies can be grown in a garden, consistently, and easily, with the exception of Phase Lemons (which require twice the capacity since you need to sacrifice other fruit) and Odd Onions (which you'll get ~6 per harvest.) The bolded slimes have the simplest requirements. Nothing can be done for the Puddle Slimes, so I've left them alone for this. Pink Slime - No Favorite Phosphor Slime - Cuberries Tabby Slime - Stony Hens Honey Slime - Mint Mangoes Hunter Slime - Roostro Quantum Slime - Phase Lemon Rock Slime - Heart Beets Boom Slime - Briar Hens Rad Slime - Oca Ocas Crystal Slime - Odd Onion So first I compiled a list of slimes vs their favorite foods. I also wanted to make sure I feed every slime it's favorite food. My goal for "optimal ranch" is diversity, and making sure I have every slime type accounted for. Please comment if there's some error you have. Before I post my proposed layout, I'll explain my thoughts. So with the only slime I need left in the game being the Quantum Slime, I was hoping to start organizing my ranch a bit more properly, and was hoping for some help from more experience ranchers in doing so.
